Millie is so radically different from a lot of its competitors, but the simple principle that I keep coming back to is that Millie’s mentors truly care about their students lives beyond the university admissions process.

In my time as both a student and an intern at Millie, I’m often asked what sets Millie apart from other companies that provide similar services. This is often challenging, as Millie is so radically different from a lot of its competitors, but the simple principle that I keep coming back to is that Millie’s mentors truly care about their students lives beyond the university admissions process.

Having previously explored different university guidance counselling options and not finding a great fit, Ariel — Millie’s Head Guidance Counsellor — was a refreshing change of pace from the formulaic approach I noticed with other counsellors. In addition to being incredibly knowledgable about how the universities admissions process works, she also directed me towards the the field of public policy based on my interests, giving me a vision for my higher education and career-related prospects. Her insights into personal statement writing were also invaluable.

Months later, I found myself working as a Curriculum and Social Responsibility intern at Millie, which is a big testament to Millie’s vision to serve as lifelong mentors for their students. Since the start of my internship, I’ve been incredibly thankful to have been continually mentored by Ariel and Jenna. From learning workplace skills and working on content-related projects, to developing a scholarship program for underprivileged high school students, Millie has helped me grow and develop immensely, and I’m sure that this will continue well into the future.
