Steve Schwager

Steve earned an AB in mathematics with high honors from Dartmouth College; an MA in mathematics from Columbia University; and an MA, MPhil, and PhD in statistics from Yale University.

Steve is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at Cornell, where he has been a faculty member for more than 40 years (1978 to present). He served as Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Biometry and Statistics major at Cornell for 18 years (1991-2009).

Following his long and rewarding career in academia, he is now serving as a Research Principal at Medidata Solutions, reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer.

Steve earned an AB in mathematics with high honors (Phi Beta Kappa, America's most prestigious honor society) from Dartmouth College; an MA in mathematics from Columbia University; and an MA, MPhil, and PhD in statistics from Yale University.

Steve was the winner of the American Statistical Association Mentoring Award 2019, and holds the rank of second dan (a second-degree black belt) in Taekwondo.
