Scott Long

Academic Mentor

Scott’s research focuses on the Iberian Peninsula in the Middle Ages, and has led him on three trips to use archives at the National Library in Madrid and the University of Salamanca.

Scott is a PhD candidate in Romance Languages at the University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches courses on the history, literature, and language of Spain and Latin America.

He completed his Bachelors in Classics and Spanish at Bates College. Scott’s research focuses on the Iberian Peninsula in the Middle Ages, and has led him on three trips to use archives at the National Library in Madrid and the University of Salamanca. Recently he has helped to curate an exhibit on Mexican history at the Rosenbach Museum in Philadelphia.

Scott enjoys comedy, reading, and cooking, and has traveled extensively across Latin America, Europe, and the Philippines.
