Besmelh (pronounced Bas-mal-ah) Alshaalan is from Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. She is currently a rising junior studying at the University of Rochester, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Digital Media Studies. Right now, she's especially interested in web and app development, as they allow her to integrate her programming skills with her passion for graphic design. In her free time, she enjoys playing the ukulele, embroidering, or helping her mother in her newly established bakery business.
